FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ColGay Pride Presents: Trans Pride – Trans Lives Matter Protest
Thursday, August 1st | 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM | Starbucks Parking Lot, 6783 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, GA
About this Protest
ColGay Pride of Columbus is proud to announce a peaceful protest in support of our transgender community.
On Thursday, August 1st, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, we will gather in the parking lot of Starbucks on Veterans Parkway to stand in solidarity with our trans brothers and sisters.
Why this Protest
This demonstration is a response to the ongoing disregard and erasure of transgender lives by political leaders and institutions.
We protest not just policies, but the dangerous rhetoric that seeks to invalidate the existence of an entire group of American citizens—without science, without reason, and fueled only by hate.
· Bring your signs. Bring your flags. Most importantly, bring yourself.
Messages like “Trans Lives Are Human Lives,” “We Exist,” and “Our Lives Matter” will be proudly displayed as we raise our voices for visibility, dignity, and justice.
· This is a call to action. A call to compassion. A call to show that we are here—and we are not going anywhere.
