Thirsty? Choose water!
Join the Columbus Health Department, Mildred L. Terry Public Library, and Columbus Water Works for Hydrate My State: A Water Appreciation Program.
Throughout the months of August and September we’re encouraging our fellow community members to drink more water and less sugar.
To celebrate our healthy decision, we’re hosting an in-person event on Wednesday, September 15th from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Mildred L. Terry Public Library located at 640 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31901.
Enter a fruit water taste contest, learn more about soft drinks and reading nutrition facts labels, talk with water experts from Columbus Water Works, win FREE prizes, and more!
We pledge to drink more water in hopes of improving the health of ourselves, our families, and the greater Columbus community. Will you join us?
On average, 6 in 10 youth and 5 in 10 adults drink a sugar-sweetened beverage on any given day. These sugary drinks like soft drinks, juices, and sports drinks increase the risk for cavities, heart attacks, high blood pressure, type II diabetes, fatty liver disease, and cancer according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
Choose water!
Your body will thank you.
