WTVM Reports: Two Columbus natives are vying for a Muscogee County School Board seat in what turned out to be an extremely close race.

Pat Frey had 147 votes and Laketha Ashe had 145. The District 7 school board seat is still a pretty tight margin.

The seat was vacated by non-profit CEO Cathy Williams, who resigned after being elected to the Board of the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Residents will be able to participate again in the District 7 runoff on July 18.
