Whatcha Doing Friday, December 20th? It's NATIONAL UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER DAY
NATIONAL UGLY CHRISTMAS SWEATER DAY HISTORY
In 2011, ugly Christmas sweater lovers created National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day as a way to lighten up the busy holidays and to show off their absurdly, ugly sweaters. The day has grown in popularity and is celebrated worldwide.
So what should I do? Really ...
According to the NUCSD people online, wear a pullover sweater, or pullover sweatshirt...even a sweater vest will do, but the idea is to make it as ugly as possible, and if you are so inclined, do the worst thing anyone could ever do to an ugly sweater and put Christmas lights on it.
Christmas lights, solar bulbs, whatever ... but everybody shouldn't do it all at once or people easily triggered by migraines are inclined not to bother showing up at your party.
Start with something with a "busy" pattern with mismatched and/or loud crazy colors, or use a solid color sweater and DIY it with bows or other Christmasy accessories or even pin it all over with tiny Christmas stockings, pictures of your dog acting up, fake fur, bottles of hand sanitizer, or put an elf on it with a camera taking a "so-elfie." ???
[Or you can steal some of your neighbor's ugly old backwoods Trump merch and use it for parts.]
Wrap your sweater in wreaths or icicles or holographic garland and then take a dip into the wild and adventurous soiree you were incited to, but don't overdo.
