Former Trump campaign attorney Kenneth Chesebro was disbarred in New York in June 2025 due to his involvement in the fake elector scheme following the 2020 presidential election.
The decision came after he pleaded guilty to a felony charge in Georgia related to his efforts to overturn the election results.

"ORDERED, on the court's own motion, that Kenneth John Chesebro be suspended from the practice of law before this court," the order U.S. Court of Appeals for D.C. reads.
"FURTHER ORDERED, on the court's own motion, that this matter be referred to the court's Committee on Admissions and Grievances for a recommendation to the court on the extent of the final discipline to be imposed as a result of the conduct resulting in the conviction," it added.
Chesebro was disbarred because he has been convicted of a serious crime.
In 2023, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit filing false documents in Georgia and has been referred to as the "mastermind" of the fake electors plot that sought to steal the election from Joe Biden in 2020.
In 2023, CBS News reported on the memo that Chesebro authored for the plot, describing it as laying out a "sweeping strategy for organizing Trump supporters to serve as fake electors in the wake of the 2020 election."
Chesebro was already been disbarred from practicing law in New York.
The best part about this news is that Donald Trump can't bail his crony out.
He has the power to pardon federal crimes (and has demonstrated a willingness to abuse that power) but he can't reinstate Chesebro's ability to practice law.
The U.S. state and federal legal systems are currently under attack from every side by Trump, but those who do not understand that Trump destroyed a lot of lives the first time around don't see what their future is looking like as of right now; and that includes US Attorney Pam Bondi - who will also be disbarred soon enough if things keep going the way they are.
