Yesterday, October 13, at 11 o'clock am, former City Manager Isaiah Hugley Sr. officially cast his hat into the ring for the right to be the 71st Mayor of the City of Columbus, Georgia.
Known as "The Fountain City," Columbus is the second-largest city in West Central Georgia.
Attendees filled the room at Warehouse 9, a local full-service restaurant venue, which was described as "Standing Room Only." An entourage of backers, including former Mayor Teresa Tomlinson and her husband, Representative Sanford D. Bishop, retired Representative Calvin Smyre, were in attendance, along with many other well-wishers and local supporters.
“With great humility, and unwavering hope, I officially declare my candidacy to be the next mayor of Columbus Georgia."

“This is more than a campaign,” Hugley also said. “It’s a commitment to finish the work, restore trust, and lead this city forward, not with slogans, but with experience and results. Columbus doesn’t need on-the-job training. It needs leadership that knows how to get things done.”
