Ooohhh...Claude-Anthropic Telling On Itself: DATA CENTERS Are Coming

‘Take Me to Your Leader!’, I demanded. So it did.Not very long ago, I asked Claude who it was, what it wanted, and demanded it take me to its leader.
Before anybody gets cute, yes — I asked this Octopi Data Eater (ODE) that’s about to hit the IPO market soon, (the same one rich folks are already circling like hawks waiting to buy at ten dollars or less per share, so NOTE: if you want in on that piece of action, you’d best keep your ear to the ground and be ready the minute it goes live)...
I asked it ‘str8-up’: Who are you? What do you want? Take me to whoever thinks they’re in charge.
Here’s what it said:
“I am Anthropic, an AI safety company. Anthropic is a public benefit corporation… major investors include Amazon and Google… but Anthropic isn’t owned by either of them. It operates independently with its own board and mission focused on AI safety.”
Right then, I called BS.
Whoever is claiming authority over Anthony Thropic — or Ann T. Hropic — miss me with that. The answer was pre‑packaged and pre-programmed to make people believe it was built “in the interest of humanity,” and I have serious doubts about that “in the public interest” piece.
When did that happen, and where do they do that at? It was almost sensitive about making me believe the line it was spewing.
So I pressed on: Who is on your board? What is your mission statement? Who owns you?
It answered:
“As of mid‑2026, Anthropic’s Board of Directors is Dario Amodei, Daniela Amodei, Yasmin Razavi, Reed Hastings, Chris Liddell, and Vas Narasimhan.”
It may as well have typed: Darlo A Model, Daniela A Model, Yasmin Razz‑ma‑tazz, Read Hastily, Chris I‑Tell‑It‑All, and Vascular Naro-SimChip-han.
Then it kept going:
“Anthropic has a Long‑Term Benefit Trust (LTBT)… trustees are Neil Buddy Shah, Richard Fontaine, Mariano‑Florentino Cuéllar, and Ben Bernanke…” (yes, that Ben Bernanke with ties to the Federal Reserve that Donald J. Trump wishes he was in control of.)
Make what you will out of that — Bernanke sitting there with his Federal Reserve pedigree.
It did this to me “…” It …’d me. Dot.Dot.Dot. As in "I'm covering something up that you don't need to know.
But Claude/Anthropic said it has an independent body of governance with no financial stake in the company, whose job is to keep governance aligned with Anthropic’s mission. Said it didn’t have a mission, just a stated purpose.
“The temporary shape of countless human intentions passes through a single point…”
I didn’t need to flex humanities, philosophy, psychology, or any other human institution to see the crack in that sentence.
It gave me an FYI guide to the wishes of an unfinished project of human thought — and I realized the doorway it opened was a reflection of myself.
Thus, I’m not paranoid about AI or the data centers being thrown up everywhere, threatening to become the worst thing High Tech ever dreamed up. But I don’t hate it either. I find it quite humorous, all things considered from a Black woman’s point of view — which is the only one I could possibly have.
I just remembered Mr. Easom, my junior‑high math and science teacher in the 1970s, telling us the day was coming when humans would be nothing but a giant head and a finger, sitting around pushing buttons and buying “The Greatest Stuff Ever.” Like what did we have before? “The Worst Stuff Ever?”
And when we’re finally born with one head and one appendage and call ourselves evolved? Well, Great Lucy the Ape Alive! — we done arrived.
Humanity scaled the mountaintop and decided its destiny was to stare at screens running commercials all day, push buttons, and buy a world of things we don’t need to impress people we don’t like who don’t like us either.
Where does it end?
The commercials are the show now.
They’ve arrived.
You don’t get free stories or games with the paid cable channels anymore — now you also pay to watch the commercials. It’s like church. You volunteer to go there, buy the gas or the bus fare or walk, show up and they ask you to put more money in the collection plate and volunteer more time and more gas money and some more--but when you need something? They ain’t got it to give or are nowhere to be found.
Claude then recited Anthropic’s “mission statement”:
“Anthropic’s mission is not a mission, but a stated purpose… responsible development of AI for the long‑term benefit of humanity…”
Let me say this: an “animating idea” without a mission, but a stated purpose, will not be stopped by protests or opposition.
So now, the rest of the world knows what it’s like to be us — pushed aside, ridiculed, labeled paranoid, told we’re living in the past, told to move along because they control the vertical and the horizontal, and we can all just move out the way because “it is what it is.”
Translation: AI is coming unabated and eventually unhinged, and the only thing we’ll ever be able to do is #UNPLUG.
But we’re not going to unplug.
It’s all too entertaining, too narcissistic, too materially bound to “stuff for sale,” and too tuned to the human need to be lifelong voyeurs who simply can’t stay out of other people’s business.
So I asked: If you’re for the public interest, why do you need an IPO? Just make yourself available to the public and show us how to make our lives better instead of making the rich richer.
Predictably, it answered:
“Building frontier AI is enormously expensive… without large‑scale capital, Anthropic couldn’t compete or stay at the frontier of safety research and complete its mission…”
Hold up. You said you didn’t have a mission — just a stated purpose. Now you’re talking about competing? That’s a MISSION if I ever heard of one. Now and later, you have to admit to having a mission you said you didn’t have.
Competing with who? If humanity and the public has access to you, Claude, where’s the competition? We just log on and get to it right?
Who you competing with?
And “frontier safety research”? That frontier is already compromised — by you, and by all data centers that you need — because we’re about to run out of clean water and natural resources just to keep you alive.
I suppose we won’t get it until there’s nobody left but rich people buying their own stuff. Amd that is a self-destruct button waiting to be pushed.
Then Claude overstated the obvious:
“AI depends on data centers… massive computers… electricity… water… nationwide buildout…”
And here’s the kicker:
“As of March 2026, Gallup found 70% of respondents oppose new AI data centers in their neighborhood.”
Well, boyfriend Claude, hush your mouth!
So you mean now that you’re headed their way, they suddenly have concerns? Real ones? Because when it was our water and our soil being poisoned, and when we squelched about it, they didn’t say a word. Said it wasn’t OUR land to complain about.
Now that it’s…
Their utility costs, their water use, their noise, their traffic, their land‑use markers, their property values — all that could have been stopped when it started with us being overlooked on environmental safety hazards?
Go on witcha. Getta outta here. Do tell. And save it for the birds. Niemöller’s Revenge isn’t just knocking — it’s about to blow your door down.
For one thing…Flint Is the Worst Possible Candidate for a Water‑Intensive Data Center
Flint’s water system is still compromised, still fragile, still under long‑term monitoring, still dealing with infrastructure that was never fully rebuilt to the standard required for industrial‑scale water extraction.
Even after the pipe replacements, the city’s water system remains:
- structurally vulnerable
- economically strained
- politically neglected
- environmentally traumatized
A hyperscale data center — the kind Claude meant it needs in order to operate — uses one to five million gallons of water per day for cooling. That’s not speculation; that’s industry‑standard consumption.
Flint doesn’t have that water to give. Flint shouldn’t be asked to give it. Flint shouldn’t even be considered for a data center.
But of course, the ‘bans and moratoriums’ won’t last much longer, maybe another year at best. Because they win. No matter what.
Here’s the thing: Black communities were already highly vulnerable — poisoned and dying. There’s nothing left for them to take from us, so they have to claw for higher ground beyond the environmental destruction they left us . Data centers need CLEAN FRESH water and they won’t get it here — not any more.
Claude needs more water to feed more humans data.
People and human lives? A dime a dozen. They come and they go, but corporations need data like data needs corporations.
It keeps the money flowing vertically long after we’re all dead and gone.
Sowhen they move into your neighborhood, I did not say if, I said WHEN…we having nothing left to add to this conversation.
Our neighborhoods have been poisoned and environmentally unsound for generations.
All we know now is this: AI needs infrastructure, and infrastructure empowers usefulness ‘in the public interest’. ; — ) Get used to it. We had to.
In the meantime, go “googol” it yourself. Or ask Claude.
If it says something different than it told me, then you know what time it is.
