McMillan Pazdan Smith (MPS) announced today that its Columbus studio is moving to a new location in the historic Riverfront Building at 1101 Front Avenue, Suite 203, Columbus, Georgia 31901. The move comes as this Columbus team marks one year since joining MPS, one of the nation’s top architecture and advisory firms.
“Our new studio keeps us connected to the communities we have served for more than 65 years,” says Jeff Harper, Columbus Studio Director. “With the expanded resources of MPS behind us, we are bringing even more value to every client relationship.”
When Hecht Burdshaw became a part of MPS in September of 2025, the trusted local architects and interior designers known for outstanding public and private work in the Columbus and Auburn-Opelika region were bolstered with added resources to support the new commerce, education and healthcare developments in the region.
The Columbus studio will continue under the same leadership, preserving key relationships, and responding to clients’ needs as neighbors and long-term partners.
MPS is nationally recognized as an operations leader and for its healthcare, education, civic, commercial and industrial design. The firm’s advisory team is instrumental in helping new and expanding enterprises gain a bigger foothold in the booming Southeast.
The Columbus studio is currently working on the Mercer University School of Medicine, which will expand the health sciences and create a critical physician pipeline to rural Georgia.
MPS Columbus also designed the Col. Ralph Puckett Jr. VECTR Workforce Development Center at Columbus Technical College that opened in July 2026 and connects veterans, service members, military families, and the broader Columbus community to education, credentials, and direct employment pathways.
