COVID In Public Schools: Georgia Parents Pulling Children from Schools even as Georgia Governor Kemp...

Many parents across Georgia are extremely angry about the mindset of various school districts with regard to lax Covid-19 protocols and dangerous misinformation that has come from different persons, including politicians and school board members.

"Some parents, including those with children suffering from asthma and one whose 13-year-old has a flagging immune system after fending off a rare leukemia as a younger child, are taking their kids out of school," CNN was told.

This past Thursday, GOP Gov. Brian Kemp signed an executive order that bars local governments in Georgia from enacting vaccine mandates and mask rules.

Columbus Mayor Berry "Skip" Henderson also stated during the most recent City Council meetings that he agrees that decisions about vaccines [and mask-wearing] should be left as a "personal choice" between a patient and their personal physician and that individual business owners should be able to decide whether or not they will comply with state or federal CDC Guidelines on mask mandates.

In the meantime, schools in Georgia have only been back in-person for three weeks and already hundreds of children in Georgia and in surrounding states have been diagnosed with COVID-19 and/or one of its many variants regardless of vaccination status -- and sent home because of it.

Previously opened venues are re-shuttering in the midst of the uncertainty about the Delta variant and there is a certain 'dusty air' about the state and the nation that things should "get back to normal," when anything and everything BUT that is happening.

Notably ... during the week of August 13, the Muscogee County School District reported 65 positive COVID cases out of more than 30,000 students with 551 students still self-quarantined, and 24 cases among school employees with 40 employees self-quarantined.
