Iconic Activist James Meredith's Black and White Families Forge a New Frontier Together: Overcoming White Supremacy

The Linked Descendants Working Group invites you to join us for this very special Coming To The Table presentation, featuring James Meredith, the first African American to integrate the University of Mississippi in 1962.

This free and public virtual event will feature: a review of the historical background of the connected Meredith and Campbell families; video excerpts of a recent conversation between James Meredith and his son, John Meredith; a look at the legacy of enslaver J.A.P. Campbell; and reflections from Meredith and Campbell family members

The event will also include a live open discussion with event attendees about their own experience of working together to address the legacy of slavery.
