Poverty, unfair trade practices, and the problems created by increasing globalization—all raise hard questions of responsibility, morality, and equity. 

Recognizing the ethical dilemmas intrinsic to building better international social and economic institutions, promoting global development efforts, and protecting individual freedoms, the Council’s work encourages reflection and action towards achieving a more just world.

The goal is to help close gaps between theory and practice, and between theorists and practitioners, by integrating rigorous thinking about principles of global justice into debates about existing institutions and development policies, in ways that can enrich each.

Our current programs and publications on the theme of Global Social Justice focus on the following topics:

• Environment/sustainable development
• Human rights - ALL OF THEM!
• Inequality
• Corruption
• World poverty and global health

Though we usually travel to places around the world each year to celebrate this annual event, this year's celebration will be virtual due to global pandemic restrictions, but we pray everyone's health and strength as we return to a location TO BE ANNOUNCED for the 2022 Global Initiative for 100TPC. We are praying for a collective artists' unity in Glasgow, Scotland in 2022, but we will go where they send us! (smile)

This year, we will be posting all respondents' THEMED SOCIAL JUSTICE works of art and words of encouragement and support to people AROUND THE WORLD who want to hear COLUMBUS, GEORGIA make some noise for PEACE  and SUSTAINABLE NETWORKING right here on FOUNTAIN CITY NEWS!

SIGN THE PLEDGE CARD by sending us an email (Subject Line: "I Commit to Read a Poem to a Child" and then commit to sending us a photo of yourself and your child or children as you READ A POEM to them -- same deadline for photos and/or videos as shown above for artists.

Submissions will be placed under the 'READ A POEM TO A CHILD' category for special recognition!
