Goals of growing the local Whitewater community are in full swing!

Whitewater Express, Jackson Kayak Team Members - Hargrove Adventures, and Team River Runner - Fort Beginning Chapter, are all cohosting Throw-down Thursdays at Waveshaper Island on the Uptown Columbus Riverwalk. 

Starting at 530 EST, we will fellowship together at the river with kayaking, while offering tips and lending support from Certified Whitewater Instructors.

The evening is challenge-by-choice and an opportunity to enjoy being outside, on the river, together. Come perfect your roll, work on ferrying, running a rapid, or surfing a feature, with the support of other kayakers.

This is not just for adults, but includes kids of all ages and full families. Please remember Personal Floatation Devices are required by law when in our Chattahoochee River. Water shoes and nose plugs are also highly encouraged.

Need Gear/Boat?
**This is a free event, including gear/boat for active military, retired military veterans, and their family members. Let us know, in advance that you are coming so we can have the needed boats and gear ready.
**Hargroves are happy to share their kid-sized Jackson Kayaks, but they are limited and do need a heads up to bring extra kid-sized gear and boats.
**If you are not military and need to rent gear and/or a boat, please call Whitewater Express, Columbus, Georgia in advance to reserve. They are offering rentals at a discounted rate of $10 for ThrowDown Thursday. Thanks WWE!

IMPORTANT: IF YOU NEED BOATS/GEAR On Thursday, plan to check in at the Columbus, Georgia WhiteWater Express location between 430-515. Cut off time for rentals is 515pm EST for the 530 PM event.
